The core difference: what holds the crane up

Everything downstream comes from this. A bridge crane’s bridge spans between runway beams that are part of — or added to — the building. The building carries the load.   • Runway rails and support steel to carry the crane and its load.

  • It moves. One gantry can serve a dozen lift points across a facility, or travel between sites in a truck. A bridge crane serves its runway and nothing else.
